CCSOS 2010 Political Advisory Council Goals
June 16, 2010 – CCSOS has formed a Political Advisory Council for the 2010 election season. Work will begin this week.
Below is a description of what the council hopes to accomplish:
The CCSOS Political Advisory Council will seek 3 representatives from each of 7 school sites as well as our Community Education preschool community. Additional representatives will be community members that are neither employed by or have children attending CCUSD schools.
The goal of the CCSOS 2010 Political Advisory Council will be to develop candidate questionnaires for State Legislative Candidates, CCUSD Governing Board Candidates and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Candidates. These questions will be of specific interest to our community and we will make the results available to our general membership and our website as a resource for voters to make informed decisions at the polls.
The work of the council will be broken into two sessions. The first session will address the primary race for state level candidates taking place in August and second session will address the general election to include governing board candidates in November.
As a culminating service, CCSOS Political Advisory Council may decide to endorse candidates if a consensus is reached.
Council members will also be grouped by candidate preference and given instruction on how to join candidate campaigns or form their own (non-CCSOS) political committee to support their chosen candidates, if desired.
